Our team along with Artisans felicitated in the Karigar Haath on Rural Technology 2017 in Gandhi Darshan, Rajghat, New Delhi.
On the occasion of 125th Birth Anniversary of Dr. J. C. Kumarappa, the Karigar Haat was organized by the Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti, Rajghat, New Delhi. We had participated with our fellow Artisans and our Karigars were overwhelmed with the kind of appreciation they received from the people and the bureaucrats.
It was a 5 day program where our Artisans showcased their skills and the interested group of people also tried to learn these skills from them. To name a few we had showcased the art of Making of Kolhapuri Chappals, Kolhapuri Traditional Jewellery and also the Terracotta Handicrafts. Stitched Maharashtrian Nauvari Sarees and Kolhapuri Phetas were the point of attraction for the crowd. Wooden toys and Leather Puppets also contributed to our collection.
After the successful completion of our project, we all Artisans were felicitated by Director Shri. Deepankar Gyan Sir, GSDS; Shri Basant Singhji Sir and many other dignitaries. This short journey brought a huge change in the thinking of our Artisans and they were pretty confident and enthusiast to learn new techniques which brought huge change in the finishing of end products. So, we thank the whole team of GSDS for giving us the opportunity and a platform to showcase our products.
