The design workshop of 4 months was carried out at our Cluster village wherein 40 chappal artisans were benefited by this. they received the monthly remuneration from the govt.Also the event was such a success that we started receiving the export orders. Our master artisan has been finally nominated for the 'National Award' and we await the results. Our designer who was from NIFT, Delhi with her efforts were able to bring innovative interventions in the traditional designs and surprisingly most of our artisans were able to work it accordingly, which proved that our artisans are really Gem Karagirs.
A valedictory function was organized, where Shri. Amal Mahadik sir ,MLA Kolhapur, was the chief guest. He was amazed to see the transformation that we have achieved in our designs with the help of this integrated training. He promised us to help us in every matter related to kolhapuri chappals.
